Yep it’s that easy; at least that is what the folks who promote Buy Owners and Discount Brokerages will tell you. Before you choose one of these methods, ask yourself “am I prepared to go through all the hassle?” And if you think we’re not worth the money, try the Buy Owner route and know that Realtors eventually will sell over 80% of all FSBO’s-true story.
The truth is that selling a home in any market condition involves careful planning and in this unsettled marketplace, you better know what your are doing.
Ask yourself one simple question “how many homes have I sold this month?” if your answer is “none” get a Realtor.
Realtors will assist you with the following:
- Pricing your Home (aka Price Analysis)
- Preparing your Home to maximize sale price (aka sprucing it up)
- Marketing the Home
- Understanding contracts & offers
- Understanding cosing documents
- Closing the sale
Consequently we’ve touched on each of these subjects in this section.
If you are truly interested in selling your home, enlist a Realtor (even if it’s not me). However if you want an honest opinion of your home’s value, give me a shout.
If you are just “testing” the market, start by going to open houses on Sundays and getting to know how much homes are going for these days.
